Preston was an awesome guy. Always made me laugh at the farm. One of my best videos was with him on a sunset jump. I will be more than happy to put any footage i have of him together. I will miss him dearly. I haven't seen him in a while but feel free to join me on a jump dude.
Peace out
Lee:(

Preston was on the load when I made my first jump many years ago. He was there on the 4 way for my falcon and double falcon in 96. He was there for my 500th when the 15 way happened over Rome for the "first" time. He help me find my first cutaway canopy. And, yes later I was able to validate his ratings for him. He taught me leg turns before the mantis was a known posture. Thanks to the help and inspiration of people like Preston we all grow as jumpers. Like us all he came with flaws, but that's not what you think of at times like this. I saw him in his best form just last week as he graduated a student here. Nan you are a wonderful woman and I know you'll always remember him too. He loved this sport and loved sharing it too! I'm happy that you were such a good student for him to work with.

Blues Preston, I will always remember you.

Here are the last two pictures of Preston Ford skydiving. He had just freefell with a student that had worked hard and long to become a skydiver too. It doesn't take much to see the joy on his face knowing he had good news to share with her.

Blues Preston

Preston, you will be missed my friend. It seems like just 10 minutes ago that you said to me "now that Nan is off student status me and you can go out and fall fast together...". Not only that, now who is going to teach me how to psycho pack. Damn it man...

Fly free brother, I will see you soon enough...

Blue Skies,
Ben

Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

Preston was my friend, teacher and mentor. He took this 40 something yr old lady that was having trouble with AFF and taught me how to fly! Through the s/l program he jumped with me for 20 jumps and never charged me a dime! He believed that experienced jumpers should pass their knowledge to others for the price of a lift ticket. I only tapped a very small portion of his knowledge of the sport but it was everything I needed to get my A license. I was lucky enough to have Preston in the air with me and Norm Johnson on the ground to guide me in. I couldn’t lose. I was the last person Preston jumped with and I know he will be with me on every jump I make in the future. He will laugh when I do well and say, “ What was THAT?” when I screw up. Preston was a man of God and I know he is heaven. Where the fishing is good everyday, there are plenty of deer and turkey to hunt. With blue skies, gentle breeze and a field of flowers to land in. I now have a guardian angle (Preston would get a laugh about being called an angle). I just wish I could give him one more hug. LOVE Nan
