parafredo 0 #1 April 25, 2005 I knew Gus and his wife from Deland and I am very concerned about this tragic loss but also I want to send all the best vibes to the pilot as well and I think some peoples are demonstrating very bad attitude concerning this terrible accident. We should be all support the pilot who is going to live with this for the rest of his life.PLEASE,do not use this forum to blame anyone without seeing any details about this fatal incidents. This pilot saves a lot of lifes just to climb us up to jump run and to be a part of the success of our passion.BE POSITIVE AND RESPECTABLE. Thanks

basehoundsam 0 #5 April 25, 2005 This forum is to report and talk about the technical aspects of skydiving/aviation related accidents. Thank-you for offering a very informative and correct insight into this incident. I know nothing about the actual accident, but can only offer condolences to ALL involved. THANK-YOU !! P.S. I think everything you stated in your post is relevant to this accident/post. Jay Epstein Ramirez www.adrenalineexploits.com
Monkeyb 0 #6 April 25, 2005 Although this isn't the forum for it, I agree. I think the pilot is going to have a hard enough time dealing with this. Pilots do the best they can to protect and look out for us up in the sky, I trust the pilot at my DZ, and I know he has everyones best interests in mind. I would not hold him accountable for an accident like this.
aironscott 3 #7 April 25, 2005 Jay- You are right. The thing that we should be taking from this is that it can happen to any one of us at any time. It happened to Roger, it happened to Gus, it happened to Tommy. There is a real possibility that it may happen to you and me.We know this. We accept that possibility. You know what's worse than one of your friends going in? Not being there to see it. With out taking off my shoes, I can't count the number of my friends that have gone in. But with out a doubt, it sucks every time. On a lighter note...I'll be up in boulder next weekend. Would love to see you and exchange some lies and bullshit. You and pope and the rest should consider making a trip out here this summer. We've got some pretty cool stuff to huck off of. Be good. slotperfect 7 #9 April 25, 2005 At last count there are now 9 threads regarding Gus Wing's death and the surrounding circumstances. Conversations are getting extremely fragmented and losing their effectiveness. I am locking this thread with four requests: 1) Please don't start any new threads - contain our conversations to these three: For discussions regarding the details of the incident itself only: Incidents Forum Thread For condolences, memories, prayers, and other expressions of goodwill: General Skydiving Forum Thread For general conversations regarding the media using information obtained from dropzone.com: Media Post In General Skydiving Forum 2) Please don't speculate. Facts are being gathered and will be released as they always are, when the facts themselves have been properly and responsibly applied to the investigation itself. 3) Please use good judgement when you post any information or opinions you have. Posting in anger or casting blame from a position outside the inner circle of this investigation does not contribute to conversations regarding this issue. 4) Gus was well-loved and widely known. Please remember that his family, friends, the media, and anyone involved in the investigation are reading these posts. Post responsibly. If you have information that you feel would be helpful to the investigators, call the DZO at Skydive DeLand and tell the DZO you have specific information about the incident.Arrive Safely John
