Organizer(s) Needed!!

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Please forgive me for the cross post... I want as much exposure as possible so we can get some help here... If I'm wrong, please feel free to remove this post. :)
SkyFest ’05 (see this thread for dates, location, information) needs an organizer for the TeXXas 20 way Pink Patch (TeXXas Star) and the Women’s Texas State Record.

The TeXXas 20 way Pink Patch is a TeXXas Star Formation made up of nineteen females and the winner of the raffled slot. (Proceeds go to the scholarship fund and the winner can be male or female!) The women on this jump don't have to be highly experienced. There have been jumpers with 50 jumps do this. Anyone who is comfortable with a 12-way can do it!! Participants who have not already gotten their patch will receive it as long as the star is built. There are only 15 men who have gotten their pink patch!! This is a 20 year tradition that was brought back by SkyFest 5 years ago.

SkyFest has casually been attempting the Women’s Texas State Record for 4 years. I say casually only because of the focus on the Pink Patch (due to its fundraising purpose). The WTSR is currently only 24. We’re shooting for a 32-way! This year Skydive Dallas has decided to hold a WTSR attempt 2 weeks after SkyFest. Since they’ve chosen to rain on our parade, we are taking this more seriously this year. Dallas is charging the women to be on the record. SkyFest is NOT charging registration for the WTSR. We have such a better chance of taking the record since we will have oxygen and a CASA to help us get there!! Yes, this is an old fashioned Texas SHOOT OUT between Dallas and Houston!!

So, we need someone who can organize these two skydives. I know there are several talented women here who can help!

If you’re interested, please contact J at js@upndownshop.com or PM him here. He is “upndownshop.”

Thanks and blue skies!
Jaime

Hey cool!!

Thanks for the post on this.

Where did the clicky go??? See what thread???

This really is a fun jump for all involved.
There has been a new tradition come from this. The ladies started putting the raffle winner in the front of the plane. before the 2 minute they have the winner male or female crawl across everyones lap to the tail and get a spanking before the exit.

Really quite funny on video.

Some day I will get my Patch[:/][:/][:/][:/]

I never bought raffle tickets because I didnt want it to be a conflict....... Hmmm after four years of this I wonder if anyone would object?? I want my Patch and my spankin.:$:$ Did i say that outloud?

Thanks again

You may buy as many as your generous heart desires!!!
We had one guy buy $300.00 worth and he won..
Tickets are $10.00 each, we will offer a block rate this year.

The winner gets his/her slot covered and we do supply video.!

And of course the LO is covered. We usually schedule 8 jumps in two days for the PP, starting at 8:00 am Fri/Sat ending at 1:00pm, this way the ladies can enjoy the rest of the events..

I did this in '98 (or so) at SDH with the same deal....

1 person bought $200 worth of tickets and won the slot.

And although we didn't have enought women for the pink patch, he didn't mind being #16 all day. And he loved the fact they manifested as "Jay's Babes".

I've been coveting the pick patch for years also, mmmm... wonder how many tickets I can afford... lessee.... (2 tickets=one jump divided by chances of winning factoring in desire for pink patch....... :S)

Don't forget that your slot is covered as a winner and video is provided, not to mention the "all important cause" for the event.

I know what you mean about getting a Patch. We have been doing this for the last four years, I even sell the tickets....:S:S:S

I want my Patch:(:(

Cross-post...

Just in case there may be any misinterpretations from my post I would like to clarify...

By NO means did I posts this to attack SDD. I was trying to make it a friendly competition as a Texas Shoot Out. Some of the statements about the history of SF and Dallas certainly appear to be an attack and this was not my intention. [:/]

SDD is doing a specific event (the WTSR) as a fundraiser for the JFTC. They are requiring payment up front as normal procedure. This is the priority for that event for that weekend so we need to support that and its cause. (Some of you may know of my participation in the Breast Cancer 3-Day so I certainly don't want to detract from ANYTHING helping the cause!!) :)
SkyFest has a different agenda and that is the Scholarship Fund (JSF) for skydivers. The Pink Patch has become one of their many “trademarks," if you will, and that is what helps raise a few dollars for the JSF. The record has been an after thought. Of course we would like to beat the old record of 24 and maybe it will create a fun competition with Dallas. :)
Both of these events are for GREAT causes and we should support them equally! :)
Basically, these are two great opportunities to practice your big way skills with your female skydivers and have a great time with old, and new, friends. :)
Let’s support both DZ’s and their events and get together on this!! :)
Thank you
Blue skies,
Jaime
