alw 0 #1 May 29, 2005 Putting aside the dynamics (and physics) of the use of this little gem, what is the lowest SAS you've seen on your dive profile? What did you do that caused that result? To save a little space let's exclude wing suits. --------------------------------------------- Every day is a bonus - every night is an adventure. Hooknswoop 19 #6 May 29, 2005 Jump run was 1/2 mile west of the DZ and into the wind (South), I opened 2 miles to the East of the DZ. I drove the road from where I opened to the edge of the DZ and added 1/2 mile. The pilot used GPS to fly jumprun 1/2 mile to the West and maintain a straight jumprun to keep the competion fair (it was a whole otter load). Pro-Track for exit, opening altitudes and free-fall speeds. I looked it up on Jump-Track Exit:13,500 Deploy:2,100 Free-fall time: 102 sec By my math that equals 76 mph avg speed and a 1.158:1 Glide ratio. I've seen lower than that for slowest speeds in a track. Derek

pchapman 279 #14 May 31, 2005 80-85 mph SAS sustained (15+ sec), in a tight, no-bootie RW suit while doing a solo tracking dive. See attached ProTrack graph. The ProTrack display showed 78 mph average, but I don't fully trust that. It's surprising how slow one can get. And this is from someone who does only the very occasional tracking dive and has under 20 wingsuit jumps. It does help a little that I'm thin - 6'1" and 150 lbs. (The ProTrack graph shows a faster dive at the start - I was experimenting with pitch angles. I get the impression that the peak at the end is a common ProTrack artifact at pulltime. As for the dip to 60 mph, it may also partially be an artifact, but might relate to flaring out before the pull.)
