Seanpg 0 #1 June 28, 2005 I am new to the sport and as a result of a lumbo-sacral abnormality, I cannot get into enough of an arch to provide adequate freefall stability. Also, the lack of an arched body position has lent itself to a slow drop speed. Any suggestions?
ChrisL 2 #2 June 28, 2005 I'm a heavy guy (250 out the door) and have a fast fall rate. I fly rather flat because a hard arch has me falling way too fast to do RW with anyone. I also have a jumpsuit that helps me a lot by being loose fitting and a poly/cotton front to create as much drag as possible. You need the opposite jumpsuit. If you cant arch because of your back, a snug jumpsuit made from nylon teffeta can help increase your fallrate.__ My mighty steed
OzoneJunkie 0 #3 June 28, 2005 Regarding your stabillity comment - you don't need an arch to fall stable. Sure it helps, but so does being relaxed. Falling stable in most (all?) positions is a balance of muscle tension - not too loose, not too tight.
