TallGuy 0 #1 June 30, 2005 Adjusted Maximum and Minimum numbers of flat flyers to more accurately represent combinations commonly used in hybrid formations. Eliminated time limits thereby sacrificing vSCR compliance in favor of FAI standards. Required that the whole formation be completely built and "controlled". (stingers may no longer release their grip on the formation until it is completely built) I am toying with the idea of removing the maximum number of jumpers that can launch the base. Does anyone have thoughts on this? I have noted that after "rejected" votes have been placed on prior drafts, no recommendations, concerns, or questions were posted. By all means I encourage you to reject a draft if you think it needs more work. But please don't do it "just because". Your input is valued. Please explain why you are rejecting it so it can be improved for this next and final draft (if one is required). Background: In the interest in creating a dropzone.com record category that allows people across skydiving disciplines to participate on equal footing I'd like to establish a new hybrid record category. The following suggestion for guidelines has been posted in the interest of establishing a standard for judging dropzone.com hybrid record attempts. This does not pertain to Hybrid RW (turning points between two or more complete hybrid formations). If the draft is rejected by 25% or more I'll revise it with any generally accepted suggestions and submit another draft in one weeks time. If this gets to the 4th draft and is rejected by 50% I'll just leave it to someone more qualified to establish the standard. 3rd draft follows: The formation may launch up to a 4-way base. No less than one-third (1/3) and no more than two-thirds (2/3) of the formation may fly belly to earth (flat). Participants of the formation not flying in a flat position must either be docked in a hanging (sitting or standing position while suspended from the flat base) or stinging position (sitting, standing which includes standing on top of the flat formation, heads-down, and inverted). The formation must be built as planned. Everyone on the dive must achieve a controlled formation using preassigned grips. Judgable video or still photograph is required to qualify for the record. Where do rodeo riders fit into this? Are they belly fliers or freefliers?

BIGUN 1,483 #4 July 1, 2005 Approved. I'm fairly confident Bill Newell would accept the proposed draft for incorporation to the vSCR awards. If and once he does, let me know so I can change the scr-awards.com website.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. TallGuy 0 #5 July 1, 2005 QuoteWhere do rodeo riders fit into this? Are they belly fliers or freefliers? Seriously Lisa, I'm not sure how to put Rodeos into the equation. I guess I'm just looking to keep things simple. However, if you think that it needs to be included feel free to post a revision of the draft that includes rodeos. If there is reasonable positive response I don't see why we couldn't include it in the 4th draft and push the final draft to be 5th.
SeaKev 0 #6 July 1, 2005 Your revision works for me. Hell, let's just get the jumps going.
WeakMindedFool 0 #7 July 2, 2005 Remove the maximum number in the base. I like the ratios but I would like to build bigger formations. If were gonna go for records, lets go BIG!
