Ohio Newbie training question

Recommended Posts

I was watching one of those dating shows awhile back where the couple went for some sky-dive training. They went into some room with a huge fan in the floor that cause the person to float on a bed of air to simulate free-falling. Does anyone know where in NE Ohio they might have something similar to this? Thanks.

You are thinking of a Wind Tunnel. The nearest ones to you would be Pigeon Forge TN, Orlando FL, Las Vegas, Perris CA.

Not sure but wasnt there going to be one at the Ranch?

D'oh! Too far for me now.

Thanks for the response.

It may be far, but if you ever get the chance to tack it on to another vacation, or head to Florida for a few days or something... they are GREAT and well worth the time/money spent.

I can only speak for Orlando, since that's the only one I've been to, but the coaching is amazing. They will get right into the tunnel with you and physically fix your body positions, get in your face and teach you new ways to fly your body.

This is great for newbies since it takes away the other distractions, such as aircraft, malfunctions, landings, etc. Just get in the tunnel and learn to fly your body.

Try it. :)

The tunnel at greensburg is gone. The owner didnt have a lot of support in the location so Roger the owner sold it to a group in Houston Texas ran by Sean Hicks, it's now called Adren-l-N. He also just announce he has the funding to start building his second tunnel a fixed tunnel that is open and looks unreal. It is like the New tunneljust opened on the east coast. Go to bodyflight.net to see what I am talking about. They are flying a 6 way in this thing! To correct a comment made earlier those are not the only public tunnels. There are about 4 more that are listed as "portable" but are stationed in various parts of the US. For a more exact list go checkout bodyflight.net there is no place on the net with more up to date info on tunnels and tunelrats than John Suiter's site.
