mnealtx 0 #26 July 6, 2005 Quoteyour toggls will be at the end of your risers near guide rings no matter what. In other words if one of your breaks fired toggle itself will be at the same position. Could be... on my rig (Vector 3) the stowed position is still lower than the guide rings. The excess line not being stowed would be a giveaway too, I would think.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. BlindBrick 0 #27 July 6, 2005 Quotehow you can visually verify that you don't have break fire? Vecroless toggles with with the top still through the cat's eye and under the keeper. Still set snug against the guide ring and the brake line still running from the ring up to the canopy. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." tigra 0 #29 July 6, 2005 I think you are being hard on yourself. You executed emergency procedures and saved your own ass. Are you still being "hazed" by someone at your dz?
windcatcher 0 #30 July 6, 2005 Hey Jack! You heard about my cutaway there too right? Dude, don't be so hard on yourself. I know how you feel, cause I want to be so incredible at skydiving and have amazing flying skills, yet I have done my fair share of stupid things with less than 100 jumps. I wish there was more I could do for you Jack, cause I really do share a lot of the same feelings you do. Hang in there! Anything worth something in life is HARD work! ( marriage, skydiving, relationships with people who are hard to love, etc) Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Not horribly bad. But the "again?"'s and "Dude, you've payed for your ticket just repacking your own stuff.", comments are getting somewhat beyond old. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." tigra 0 #32 July 6, 2005 Skydivers can be pretty blunt. Try to ignore the comments or work on thickening that skin of yours! I know that's easier said than done! I know a woman who had a string of cutaways very early in her skydiving career. Maybe 4 or 5 before she had 200 jumps. All legitimate malfunctions (she never packed for herself) but I don't think she's had any since. And hell yeah, we gave her some grief about it, but she took it pretty well!
