First jump today

Recommended Posts

Well the time has come. I am finially getting to experience my life long dream to skydive. Today i am doing my first tandem jump in gladewater, tx which is about 10 min from my house, im guessing this is a good thing considering some people drive along ways to do it. I know i am going to enjoy it. and hopefully its somthing i will do many more times to come. i have been researching on this forum for the last few days. but.. any advice from anyone? :)

Get video, and hang out for a while with the experienced jumpers.

10 minutes away...you'll be able to spend your money faster.

yep, this was the most memorable advice i ever got. my first tandem i was at the front of the bench, totally wigged out, and the woman jumping ahead of me put both her hands on my shoulders and said "whatever you do, don't close your eyes.." and she grinned and leaped out (and i think my heart stopped.)

and if i could do anything differently, i wish i had gotten video. you only have a first time once. ;)
life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.

Yep definitely get video. I wish I would have. And if you are anything like me you should move further away from the DZ. If I live 10min from mine I would be absolutely broke all of the time!

Yea, I did my first tandem with a cpl of friends today too.
I didn't get video because of the price and the fact that I thought that I might focus too much on the camera and not enjoy the actual dive.

One could say that I got bitten by the bug, but there's one thing I worry about, it kinda felt like I blocked a whole lot of emotions that ought to be there, I was never nervous, never unsure of what I was doing, no door fear, nothing.
And now I kinda worry about all those emotions getting to me when I start my S/L training which will scare me to death when I got my own back so to speak.
