Andy_Copland 0 #1 September 3, 2005 Well im suffering from a minging hang over after getting fairly tipsy (meaning extremely drunk.) I've completed all my AFF levels! Level 8 freaked me out a bit being a hop n pop but i can definately see why people love doing them, that ground looks fairly big from there Its a great sense of achievement. Basically im lost for words after doing my first consol, knowing that they have the faith in you to throw you out solo builds so much confidence. 9 more jumps and i get my A license and a whole new world of skydiving opens up for me!1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.

Andy_Copland 0 #3 September 3, 2005 My next consol is a chill out jump but im going to throw in a few back loops and a forward loop, its nice to learn on every jump. This time my mum has worked up the courage to come see me so i want to show her why i jump, show her the DZ, let her talk to a few of my friends etc, should be a good day 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. RossDagley 0 #4 September 5, 2005 Good job mate Get some WARP coaching down you next - now the fun really starts. Jumping with other people and generally having a laugh! Oh, and learn to pack too - that'll save you a small fortune
EvilLurker 2 #5 September 5, 2005 I'll tell you what I did after I got my A license: I made a couple of pure "fun" jumps, then I made about 20 where I did nothing but style (back loop, front loop, right 360, left 360, repeat) until I could do a set in ~10 seconds, learned to flat track and worked on accurate landings. In my opinion, that paid off later.
JohnRich 4 #6 September 5, 2005 What's a "consol" jump?
billvon 3,116 #7 September 5, 2005 >What's a "consol" jump? Consolidation jump. It's a reference to a BPA description of a certain kind of go-practice-on-your-own jump, from what little I know of them.
JohnRich 4 #8 September 6, 2005 Thanks for that explanation, Billvon. I hadn't heard that term used here in the U.S.
Andy9o8 2 #9 September 6, 2005 That's because we call them "go-practice-on-your-own" jumps.
Andy_Copland 0 #10 September 6, 2005 After you complete your 8 AFF levels here in the UK you need to perfrom 10 consolidation jumps to practice what you have learnt. I have 9 more and a written test before i get my A. Its a magical feeling jumping on your own :)1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue. Hambone 0 #12 September 7, 2005 Andy, Congrats are in order. Right after i graduated AFF one of the guys that works at my DZ told me to do a jump during wich i did nothing...It is one of my favorite jumps to this day. You aren't worried about anything. It allows you to see how much time you really have up there. Its Lots of fun. Just an idea... Blues OnesYeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama
