Canopy Traffic, Obstacles and Decisions

Recommended Posts

Cool, sometimes when you least expect it or want it,you will learn about how to better fly the parachute to save yourself. When I have to fly near folks(mostly Tandems now!)I first let them know how high I will be pulling.(WELL above them)If they can,t see me I make sure I put myself were the can "SEE ME"!Usually I spiral down and land well before them and well after the more experienced groups.Knowing where everybody is and what their intentions are is what it is all about. As always head on a swivel is the best way to see everyone! These other people who caused you some stress need to be reminded the sky is not "THAT BIG" after all and especially when it comes to landing in an off field situation.

>Did you just think it would be cool to do some crw on the crosswind leg?

Geez, give the guy a break. One of the purposes of this forum is to talk about mistakes and learn from them. I did the same thing years ago - and it happened not because I wanted to be cool but because I was stupid. In fact, learning CRW made me _less_ likely to have the same thing happen, since I am now not worried about flying 30 feet next to someone and following them in.

I know, everyone here is trying to keep it safe. Well, the demo goes back on Monday :( so not to worry I shall soon be back on my Tri.

Jeff, we are.. I'm glad you're ok.

Is it going back this week or next? We don't want to worry about you another weekend ;)
