livendive 8 #27 September 20, 2005 Quote Are you exiting over or under the wing? I crawled/walked out about 6 feet, stood up leaning into the wind, then front-looped over the leading edge. Very fun. The climb was a trip once we turned off/stowed the motor, and standing out there on the wing was very, very cool. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" Eiley 0 #30 September 22, 2005 Quote I think one of my favorite jumps was from an AgCat, a single seat cropdusting bi-plane. There weren't any conventional seats for jumpers, and the chemical hopper had stuff in it, so two of us took off sitting on the big yellow benches that stick out from the airframe. There were even these cool wire handles to hang onto as the airplane climbed. What a blast, but probably not legal. . My DZ has an AgCat permanently available to jump from, but it does have seats for two jumpers. Both jumpers can climb out at the same time and walk to the wing tips. We also have semi-regular jumps from aerochutes. They have to be done at some godawful hour on a winter's morning though... nothing to see here
dorbie 0 #31 September 27, 2005 I've seen video of a skydive from a tandem paraglider, now that was cool. Ever since seeing this I've entertained thoughts of trying it but it raises a few questions. Paragliding isn't regulated by the FAA, and my understanding is that regulation of general and commercial aviation is the pretext for regulation of a skydive. So hopping off a paraglider at a gliderport might be a demo jump from one perspective, or just the routine conclusion of an unregulated free-flight from another perspective if you were also a paraglider pilot. Something I'm still puzzling over
