grue 1 #1 October 19, 2005 I was just thinking, wouldn't it be neat if you could rent a Cypres for certain situations? I was just thinking how much of a pain in the ass it's going to be to buy the cheapest Cypres I can find before I go home to Australia on vacation, just so I can use my rig there. It'd be SO much nicer if I could show up early at the DZ, pay a fee and put down a deposit, and get a Cypres installed into my rig for x amount of days. Of course, I have no idea how much time and effort it takes to install a Cypres, but ideas are just that: ideas. And for those saying "why buy a cypres about to expire?", it's because I'm a college student and buying my rig in the first place kicked my ass financially cavete terrae. bob.dino 1 #2 October 19, 2005 I'll PM you the name & number of a Sydney-based rigger that rents out Cypres's. Usually used for folk who've sent theirs in for a service, but available none the less.
Keith 0 #3 October 19, 2005 Did I read somewhere that you're in SoCal? If so, and I don't know if they still have it, but Bill Von and Amy used to have an extra Cypres Amy would rent to her customers when their Cypres went in for it's 4 year check. Just a thought.Keith Don't Fuck with me Keith - J. Mandeville

Lostinspace 0 #9 October 19, 2005 ssk also rents cypres's QuoteTo obtain a rental Cypres we must have a credit card number to which we can charge a $250 deposit. We assume whoever is renting the Cypres is going to keep it for an entire repack cycle or 120 days; if in the U.S. This roughly boils down to $2 per day. The renter keeps the unit for as long as needed, up to 120 days, then returns the Cypres to SSK. However many days that were not used are credited back onto the credit card number. The customer pays for shipping both ways and the time- frame starts from the day after we ship the unit until the day before we receive it back. peckerhead 0 #12 October 20, 2005 I jumped in Australia without a cypress last April, is this a new requirement?
bob.dino 1 #13 October 20, 2005 Nope. Up to a D licence (200 jumps) you must have an AAD. From D to E (500 jumps) you can have either an AAD or RSL. E and above, it's completely up to you.
