gstukey 0 #1 October 29, 2005 I have recently completed the IAD portion of my training and will be working on PPCT's as part of the ISP. The SIM vaguely explains the PPCT, so my question is, while performing the PPCT, are they performed in the same manner as the IAD (hang and release from wing strut)? The SIM states that the last PPCT and Hop-n-Pop must be completed in the same day, so is the Hop-n-Pop performed belly first, or in the same manner as the IAD or PPCT. Sorry if this is a silly question, but trying to comprehend the SIM can be confusing at times. Thanks much and BLUE SKIES to all! gstukey Kansas
DeNReN 0 #2 October 30, 2005 1st...ask your instructors...they know best 2nd....I am not a instructor(far from it) I did my IAD progression in Canada but I believe the program is fairley similar...as you progress to PPCT(practice pulls)...usually on the 3rd or 4th jump depending on the program and how you did on your previous jumps....you are still being deployed in the same manor...being IAD'ed....but now you practice a mock PC toss...so the instrustor can see if you will do it properly(cant just chuck ya out the door and expect ya to save ure own life )....at my home DZ we put some rolled up newspaper in the PC pouch and even though you are expected to do a proper count and pull the instructor will IAD you as normal...looking for a proper arch, count and pull....the paper going into the wind tells the instructor that you found the "PC" and put it into the airstream... Arch thousand, reach thousand, throw thousand...a 3 sec delay...this is what is taught at my home DZ....after you have proven to your instructors that u can do this...usually the 6th or 7th jump is your 1st real freefall even if only for 3 seconds... Hope that helps and remember to ask your instructors...they are the ones responsible for your training and the ones you should be directing the questions at Blue Skies and welcome to skydiving
FlyingRedneck 0 #3 November 1, 2005 my jumps. 1 IAD 2 IAD awareness (watch instructor for signal) 3 Practice Pull 4 Practice Pull - done badly 5 Practice Pull - done well 6 clear and pull 7 5 second delay had to do a practice pull on the same day i did my clear and pull. i ended up doing 4 5 and 6 on the same day. all are exited in the same way, hanging off the strut. this being the most stable exit (i believe) they dont make you do anything unstable or dives or anything for a few more jumps at least
