peckerhead 0 #1 October 31, 2005 Just curious when y'all let go of the pilot chute. Not in the saddle but actual pull. (Crew guys and base not included) I know, been done before, do a search, just play along.

PhreeZone 20 #3 October 31, 2005 Why? I take it as low if not lower in my Wingsuit then I do after a freefly dive since I have better control on the opening spot.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
MarkM 0 #4 October 31, 2005 I pull and know quite a few other birds that pull higher than normal in wingsuits. The lack of arm movement and the need to cutaway your wings can complicate fixing a problem with your main.
billvon 3,111 #5 October 31, 2005 Depends on the dive. 4-20 way? 2500 or so. Bigger events? Whatever my pull altitude is, or lower. I've taken it well under 2000 feet on such events for clearance (note - NOT recommended.) Wingsuit? 3000 or thereabouts.
MrBrant 0 #6 October 31, 2005 ~2300 on an RW dive 25-3000 on a solo
Croc 0 #7 October 31, 2005 Used to pull at 3000, but since I got my Spectre I try to pull by 3500. 800 ft snivel!"Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." The111 1 #9 October 31, 2005 My lowest pulls ever (seated around 2k) have been in the wingsuit (really just a coincidence and a function of the fact that WS is nearly all I do), but since I just strapped a camera on my head I've jacked it back up to around 4k (toss) and plan to leave it there for a long time. I have no problems pulling considerably lower if the situation requires, but I'll aim to get to a clean piece of sky by 4k.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
docjohn 0 #10 November 1, 2005 It seems as the years go by, pull altitudes are getting higher. I can remember doing 4-way rw and breaking at 3500 and pulling at 2000. Old USPA recommended 'pack opening altitudes' were 2500 for A and B licenses, 2000 for C and D. Seems most RW dives (4 to 12 divers) break between 4000 and 4500. Pulling at 3000 means you've turned, tracked, waved off, and pulled in 5 seconds. I doubt you've tracked very far in that amount of time. I track like a madman until 3000, then wave off and pull. Gets me in the saddle around 2000. I'm usually the low man but I've tracked far from the crowd and away from any canopy traffic.
