artistcalledian 0 #51 November 9, 2005 i've only ever jumped a 280 but the last jump i did, i looked up and didn't reconise the colour of the canopy... for about a minute i sat shitting myself. i did my checks... unpacked the toggles, and flared.. seemed ok, but i thought i had picked the wrong rig out of the rental room at the DZ... turned out it was a usual student canopy, i almost froze for a few seonds while i thought about it when i first saw it right...... When you talk about a HP canopys, do you mean ALL canopys that are not student ones? i've ordered a new Pilot 190, is this a HP canopy.. will it have the same characteristics as the smaller ones you're talking about?________________________________________ drive it like you stole it and f*ck the police

Good for you. That's exactly what you should do. (That and ensure it's not your reserve; several people have made that mistake.) >When you talk about a HP canopys, do you mean ALL canopys that are not student ones? By literal definition, a Pilot 210 is a high performance canopy. But in general nowadays, a Pilot 210 is on the docile side and a, say, Nitro 108 is on the high performance side. artistcalledian 0 #53 November 10, 2005 thanks for that, i see what you mean by Hp now. I've been wondering if its a different style of canopy, or made from a different material. But i think you mean a HP canopy is anything thats not a student canopy? obviously a 210/190 canopy is not going to be as fast/dangerous as a vx90 or similar (still needs to be respected though)________________________________________ drive it like you stole it and f*ck the police
