Jackpunx 0 #1 November 14, 2005 Hi all, Been asking lots of questions and taking up lots of your time…. Thanks for putting up with me... I got my license this weekend.. What a great feeling of accomplishment.. After I left the school I was like a fish out of water.. they told me to go to manifest and register.. so I did.. Then I asked them to point me towards the load organizer for that day.. She came up and we ended up doing a two way.. That’s what I have been looking forward to since I started this… we did a star exit.. went well.. then we did I think she called it 45 degree touches.. .. Well.. it sounded easy on the ground…LOL..( It went well).. but I found myself reaching to much and trying to muscle it a little All and all I was able to accomplish some touches then break off at the desired altitude and pull.. Oh!.. I got to land on the Grass instead of the student area! So what is the etiquette when jumping with a LO/Coach?.. I know..”BEER!” LOL but.. Do I offer to pay their slot? Do they get a discount or something for organizing and jumping with new people? How does it work? (I gave her a big hug and thanked her for my first RW a Jump) wasnt sure what else to do Thanks Mark
HydroGuy 0 #2 November 14, 2005 The load organizers are there to get people to jump more...by getting groups together and trying their best to present everyone on the dive (of various skill levels) with somewhat of a challenge. On slower days, you might be able to get in several one on one jumps with the LO's. Free coaching minus video. Occasionally Stroup or Chisholm will wear a camera for Freefly LO jumps and give you a debrief for the hell of it. Perris is paying their slot...and probably hooking them up with free tickets on the back end as well. So you technically don't owe them anything but a thanks. That being said, everyone loves beer. Congrats on the A.Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
Scrumpot 1 #3 November 14, 2005 Congratulations! And as far as the L/O goes, it depends on the DZ and their particular set up/situation. That said, if you got particularly good service you felt from your L/O, as in any other service matter, I'm sure a tip (cash or lift ticket) being offered would almost always be appropriate. If not necessary, they will have no problem in telling you that. Blues skies and CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN! -Grantcoitus non circum - Moab Stone

Jackpunx 0 #7 November 14, 2005 Thanks to all who replied. I really dig how the DZ gets behind the LO's in organizing so that people dont have to jump alone. This sport keeps on surprising me every time I go out. Well done to the old timers for helping us newbies out
mdrejhon 8 #8 November 14, 2005 LO's are fun.... I took advantage of them at the boogie weekends at my dropzone to get a bunch of RW jumps (4-ways through 9-ways). And when I travelled to Florida. Easy when a turbine airplane is around (big dropzones or boogie days), but much harder when only a Cessna is around. Regardless of which dropzone I've been to. Scrumpot 1 #9 November 14, 2005 Now get out there and TRAVEL and see how it is done also at different DZ's around the country (and heck if you can - the WORLD). Just like anything else in life, you'll see that some are good, some are bad, and some... well, they're just plain UGLY! But variety being the "spice of life", with your new-found "A" in-hand why not begin to sample some of that? Good luck in your endeavors, and continue to keep us "posted up", okay?
