I wouldn't expect a San Diego DZ to be closed, but it's possible. But Skyride shouldn't be scheduling for that date then either. I did try going there on a Friday in June. Downtown SD was in that 'partly cloudy' state, the Otay was socked in for the day. It's a huge problem at Monterey.
