Jumpers on RADAR

Recommended Posts

Depends on the proximity to the radar site. I have had ATC call out that they can see my jumpers (4 round launch) if I was running jumprun to the NW (facing Kansas City International). Didn't happen all the time but it happened enough times to know they did get at least a momentary primary return.

Then I flew on the record in 1998. 300 jumpers in freefall at once sure does make a pretty big primary target. Chicago Center was able to see that one pretty good. Never found out if they were able to get hits on smaller groups though.
