mirage62 0 #1 December 5, 2005 I'm sure there must be a thread on this somewhere but I can't find it. There was a temp. restraining order on Moss point and the court hearing was this morning. I couldn't be there but sure hope they get some good news. BillyVance 35 #2 December 5, 2005 I think the thread's in the bonfire. I'm sure that the hearing is in progress as I type this, and we should hear something soon, maybe tonight."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
Anvilbrother 0 #3 December 6, 2005 Gold Coast is open this weekend, and there is another court date set. The official e-mail from Mike Igo is on the RWORG page I think. azureriders 0 #4 December 7, 2005 I was at the hearing. Gold Coast will be open this weekend due to some agreement that came between the parties envolved after the judge asked that the court room be cleared so we did not get to hear any details. All i know is that we will be jumping this weekend and afterwards is still up in the air. I strongly sugest reading Mikes post on http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/rworg so that details are not second hand

Andy9o8 2 #6 December 7, 2005 QuoteI dont like the fact the the judge made every one leave Don't be bummed; instead, look on the bright side - that's probably the reason the DZ will be open, because the 2 sides agreed upon a compromise. It's kind of like labor negotiations to end a strike. When emotions are high and feelings are raw, compromises are best struck with the mediator (or in this case, the judge) facilitating the discussions in private, so that everyone can save face. azureriders 0 #7 December 8, 2005 I dont think it was that big a deal that she made us leave. We were in a T-Building aprox 24'x24', bathroom in the corner, judge behind a fold out table, two parties behind there tables, 3 members of the airport board and 20plus skydivers in fold out chairs. The room was crowded, and mostly skydivers. Now don't anyone go and miss read this, there was not the first word spoken out of line by any of use and things were pretty quiet, but the judge and bailiff were obviously nervous of the crowd. There was very little litigation, then a recess, then the judge came back but asked the two councels to step outside for a moment, maybe 5 min later they all came in, asked us (and the three board members) to leave and continued with the agreement that must have started outside. PLEASE understand that I don't know anymore details and dont want to be spreading "I thinks" so I will leave it at that, but I don't think (damn, did it anyway) that us haveing to leave was a real big deal, more the judge being nervous. To those who may be wondering why court was held in such an inadequate building outside the actual court house where the judge may have felt nervous and insecure, think *KATRINA*
azureriders 0 #8 December 8, 2005 QuoteCome join us for some fun skydives from the fastest climbing Super Otter on the gulf coast. This is a special weekend, not only because we're back jumping, but because we are supporting the "Jump for Tots" program led by Sgt. Jason Elson of the 3rd Force Recon. Co. If you bring an unwrapped toy valued at $20 or more, you may jump all weekend for $15 per jump. Tandem students may bring a $10 toy and receive $25 off their tandem skydive. Obviously, not only does the drop zone need your help, but the needy kids of the area can use our help as well. I look forward to seeing all of you. It will be a nice homecoming! Maybe some of the good folks at Emerald Coast can pay us a visit. Blue Skies, Mike & Leanne An email sent out from Gold Coast. They are obviously happy to be open this weekend and could use all the support that any of you could give them
