Jumping away from home

I'm going to coss post to General Skydiving but problem is-I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, I was planning on flying my wife down but she can't make it-I didn't bring my licsence, gear. or anything with me. Can I get my S&TA/DZO to call someone so that I can rent gear and jump this weekend?

As some one who use to work manifest, I suggest call out to the DZ you want to jump at and ask them. They after all, would have the best answer for you.

Edited to add: in addition, you end up sabotaging yourself - responses are fragmented because of multiple locations. When the duplicates get removed, so do the responses. You can lose valuable content that way.

Definitely start the process a week or two in advance.
A lot of it depends upon how well local instructors w\know the S&TA at your home DZ.
Offer to fax copies of your logbook, licenses, etc. to manifest.

Why can't your wife carry your documents and rig?

Any USPA DZ with a computer can check on your license, and a call to your home DZ to verify currency is easy.

Head to manifest with coffee and donuts(a little sucking up never hurts) in the Am before they are too busy...tell your story...ask them to check you out if possible...make sure you twitch at random to prove you are a skydiver in need of a fix....jump your ass off.
