skyboard on yahoo videos

A short video of the testing and use of a "skyboard". Looks like the same thing that was in the bond movie. They say 35 sec of flight from 10k, and shows the ejection of the jumper and the skyboard landing under its own canopy.

Seems like a lot of extra danger is introduced with an uncontrolled canopy, and you can get the same amount of freefall without it. Is the idea that people who aren't comfortable with wingsuits will use this? Or is it just a toy for the movie people?

doesnt seem that exciting to me. not like it extends freefall any longer. guess its just an added toy?

seems someone in a wing suit put some mini turbines on his feet a while back... how about on a skybord?... at what point will we need pilots lisences to play with our "freefall" toys?
