Oh where, oh where has my helmet gone...

Recommended Posts

:(I apparently left it out in December after some 40-ways. Not like me, but stuff happens.

It, along with the pro-dytter in one of the ear pads, has not been seen since. This was one of 2 Freezr's at my dropzone, so it's unlikely to be seen there.

But if anyone sees a black Freezr with some of the clearcoat missing where I took some tape off the center back, and two holes drilled in it for a retaining strap, and the chin padding coming out a little and tied with some breakcord...

IT'S MINE!!!. I'm so pissed.

Here is the bottom of mine (with the retaining strap I put on). The gloves disappeared with the helmet too, but not too many people have hands like mine -- short, fat fingers.

You can go to the Paratec web page

http://www.paratec.de and skip the intro and look at pictures of the helmet under accessories. It's a PDF page that I'm having no luck copying a picture from.

That web site doesn't make it easy to find the helmet pictures...

I've attached a close-up of the design. So we're looking for one like that, in black, with a custom strap on the bottom, and the clear-coat peeled off in back.

And if we find the sum-beech who took it, what do you want done with him?

Tech note (Aren't you supposed to be a hotdog NASA computer guru?): To capture an image like that, just press Ctrl-PrintScreen. That puts the screen image on your notepad. Then go to your image viewer, and hit Ctrl-paste, and voila! - the screen image appears. At that point, you can crop, save or whatever, to get what you want from the screen image.

Yep, but it was morning and I hadn't turned my brain on yet. Thanks

Wendy, I still can't beieve we have not found it. In the past we have found almost everything someone has lost. We'll keep looking!

Hi Jim

I'm guessing someone just wanted a "wendy helmet".

Since they've had it this long no telling what they've been doing with it. Beware! if you find it wear gloves[:/]

_Sometimes_, the individual images are in the PDF. You can extract them with a tool like pdfimages
from http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/download.html. Every once in a while you get lucky and
the crummy, small image you see on the screen is scaled down from a nice high-res image that's
contained in the PDF. I lucked out on a line drawing of a PAC 750 XL this way.

Unfortunately, that didn't work this time. That PDF is three images - each a full-size image of its
page. I did put all the helmet pictures on one page and attach it. I hope this helps get the helmet
back to its rightful owner!
