Tax on aircraft fuel

I'm not sure where to post this but here goes.

Is there tax on av-gas and jet-A? If so what constitutes an exemption from paying this tax? I ask this after looking over my own tax return which has a couple pages of fuel tax credit info it it. On the pages they mention aviation fuel and exemptions for it.

I'm just wondering if some of our DZ's might be missing out on a tax break.

None I'm aware of, unless you count DZO's that buy K-1 heating oil from the farmers co/op but call Jet-A and even they file av-fuel tax cuz you can't show "off road use" like a farmer can, if your a famer then you know what I'm talking about.

Uh, is there anything that _isn't_ taxed? :) Yes - according to http://www.gaservingamerica.com/how_work/work_funding.htm, federal tax on avgas is $0.194/gal and on
Jet-A is $0.219/gal. State taxes vary; Googling on aviation fuel tax turns up the info for several states.

The traditional way is to purchase legislation exempting yourself from it. If you can't afford this, you get
to pay the tax.

Maybe, but if they're like most other small business owners I know, they know about every tax deduction,
credit, break, and dodge they can get their hands on.
