SkymonkeyONE 4 #1 March 9, 2006 HERE is a link to a set of threads I have going in the wingsuit forum about a box of wingsuits that got "lost" by UPS in December. I am posting this link here in hopes that some of you who deal on e-bay, but who might not ever venture into the wingsuit forum, will know what's up. Thanks, Chuck

SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 March 9, 2006 No, the point is that they were "found"; by a reseller of "lost" goods. An e-bay reseller has bought a batch of them and is selling them. I have already talked to him on the phone and got a very, very rude response. He is under the impression that UPS compensated me for my loss; they did not. Orange1 0 #4 March 9, 2006 don't you have legal recourse to get them back then?Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
bob.dino 1 #5 March 9, 2006 Report the seller to eBay and to the police. Receiving stolen goods is a crime.

Orange1 0 #7 March 10, 2006 There are lawyers registered here aren't there? I understand the US is a "common law" country, most common law countries the original owner is entitled to stolen goods even if the current possessor bought them in good faith (caveat emptor and all that).Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun. catfishhunter 2 #8 March 10, 2006 Didn't you insure them? There are several places one can go to purchase lost/damaged UPS/Fed-Ex/DHL/ Railroad Items. If they bought it from there because a Tag Fell off then they own them. You where responsible for claiming the proper cost when you shipped them and insuring them for that cost. Not trying to be a hard ass but spending nearly 100k a year in shipping I have learned the hard way to make sure the declared value is ALWAYS right and the insurance is appropriate for the replacement value. If they stole it then thats different but UPS Liabillity ends with your decalared/Insured Value MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have. We must live life to the fullest EVERY DAY. Everything we do should have a greater purpose.
