Katherine 0 #1 March 15, 2006 Not sure if this is the right forum, so apologies if I am wrong :) Two weekends ago I did my unstable exit jump (RAPs training) and it went absolutely fine, held the tumble then stabled out as soon as I arched. However, after I had been on the ground for about 40 mins I started to get really dizzy and it just kept getting worse. It got really bad very quickly so that I couldn’t really stand up. Stupidly I didn’t let anyone know that I was feeling ill and went to lie down in the bunk room but didn’t make it and ended up in the bathroom being sick and not able to move too much with the whole world spinning round and round and round and round… After about 40 mins I heard someone walk past and my friend and my instructor helped me into bed. People thought that it might be due to not eating anything and going straight up on the 1st lift and got me some food. After a while the world stopped spinning violently and I was just dizzy and a bit shaken up. This happened on the Sunday and it took until Wednesday for me to stop feeling queasy, dizzy and unsteady. I went to the doctors and they think that it was probably brought on by the tumbling during the jump. However, my GP said to wait until I see a consultant (2-3 month waiting list) until I jump ‘just in case’. My dad (also a GP) said that if I was his patient he would say that too just to cover his ass, but the worst that will happen is that I will get another vertigo episode and it is highly unlikely that it will happen again anyway. So, basically, I was wondering if anyone has had (or knows someone who had) a single episode of vertigo that was probably brought on by jumping and if they were fine / not ok after jumping again. Btw, I am not scared of heights and this type of vertigo is nothing to do with heights, it is just your inner ear telling your brain that you are still spinning when actually you are still. twibbles 0 #3 March 15, 2006 last time i suffered symtoms anywhere like yours, though nowhere near as bad, i did 6 jumps a day at a FS skills camp in Portugal, back when i have 30 jumps total. Felt dizzy the whole day and almost threw up at dinner. Wasn't sure of the cause, but i don't get it anymore. Adrenalin hangover maybe? I do suffer from motion sickness, i don't throw up, but i do go very queasy. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created.
