rwieder 0 #5 December 3, 2005 Quote8-10 weeks just happens to be the current Icarus waiting time. I don't know about you, but i knew 8-10 weeks before i bought my X-Fire2 that i needed it. Besides, the classifieds are loaded with them, why wait 8-10 weeks. I've got a X-Fire2 149^2 and a X-Fire2 169^2 and neither is for sale, rent, lease etc...I guess if i did lend it out and it got lost on a cut-away, whomever i lent it out to would reimburse me? If damaged, i would have to wait for repairs? NOT! Why don't you lend him yours?-Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
HydroGuy 0 #6 December 3, 2005 QuoteWhy don't you just get a demo, or better yet buy your own? My Safire2 is 8-10 weeks from delivery. I can get canopies through Square1 @ Perris, but that doesn't do me any good if I want to go to Otay or Elsinore. Plus, I've missed loads before because the gear store doesn't open till 9, but loads start going at 7 or 8 some days. Getting a demo through Icarus is only good for 1 or 2 weekends...I don't really feel like repeating that process 5-10 times. My thoughts are that someone has a canopy that is not being used...maybe they are a seasonal jumper, or taking time away from the sport, or just a gear head with extra stuff sitting around...that wouldn't mind parting with it for a couple of months for a fee. I can provide references in the form of AFF-I's or a S&TA that can verify my abilities as well as character.Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
johnny1488 1 #7 December 4, 2005 I know it's hard, but you might have to expand your request beyond Safire2's. I know, I know its tough. But just think, it would make you appreciate your canopy that much more when it gets here. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" billvon 3,116 #8 December 4, 2005 Got a Silhouette 170. I also have a no-name 7 cell square F111 that we think is about 170 sq ft. It's been jumped a lot. If you can get it in your container, you can have it!

narcimund 0 #10 March 29, 2006 QuoteWhy don't you lend him yours? Actually, that's exactly what I did. HydroGuy is great. He sent a significant cash deposit, agreed to completely reasonable conditions, was really easy to work with, and sent back the canopy in absolutely perfect condition.
