bskyz 0 #3 January 30, 2004 I was all excited about that until I realized that my Mac doesn't have an IR port so I can't dump the Neptune onto it anyway... Blue ones Dave My site...

Make sure it has the proper drivers for OSX. KlausMy Logbook
nicknitro71 0 #7 April 6, 2006 It's java based... it works even on a toaster! Acually once we did plug a toaster to a Linux PC, wrote a driver for it and it worked! You gotta love that OS!Memento Audere Semper
vidiot 0 #8 April 6, 2006 QuoteIt's java based... it works even on a toaster! You are right - more or less. There actually is a pure Java based, OS independepent installer available which should run on any toaster which has a JRE. Without the serial stuff, unfortunately. The serial drivers are not part of the Java standard and are OS dependent. IR is even worse... :-(My Logbook
phoenixlpr 0 #9 April 6, 2006 I love it, but she has to love me..... I suck with IR drivers/protocols....
grue 1 #10 April 7, 2006 My next machine will most likely be a Sony VAIO SZ portable, after having Macs in my house for 22 years, and personally owning one of my own at all times, usually more than one, since I was ten years old. This could still change, but it'd take Apple doing something I don't think they'll do. A year ago I'd have been really excited about this port, though! cavete terrae. bob.dino 1 #11 April 7, 2006 Going from one overpriced vendor to another, eh? Sony laptops cost an absolute fortune. If you want good industrial design and Windows, just buy a Macbook Pro and install XP.
grue 1 #12 April 11, 2006 I wish that were an option, but it's not. Unfortunately, Sony is the only company that makes a machine that fits my needs. There is literally no competition for it. cavete terrae.
