murrays 0 #26 March 17, 2006 QuoteI meant jumping between now and the record. Was 2003 his last jump ? They announced training jumps at a famous french DZ for training, but noone ever saw him there. Don't know anything about any other jumps he may have done since then.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

He had a cutaway and I spent a bunch of time getting eaten by mosquitoes helping to find his main.do you know what rig/main/reserve he was jumping ? Deployment system ? Was he jumping in his "full suit" ?scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Was he jumping in his "full suit" ? PdF rig....don't remember the model. Large main and reserve. 240-250 sq ft. The rig was the rig that he would have used...it had pockets to hold bail-out oxygen bottles. He just used an ordinary jumpsuit.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
riddler 0 #30 April 13, 2006 QuoteAnd in August 2003, the balloon tore, deflating his dream once again. I'm not an expert in media practices, but I've heard that sometimes reporters have "rack" stories that they keep on file until they have nothing else to publish. For instance, if they go on vacation, they'll pull an older story off the rack, and it may get published without ever checking for currency. My guess is that if this report were really recent, they would have mentioned the financial trouble (IIRC, one investor took off with a lot of the money, or something like that), in the short history at the end of the report. So I would guess that this story, although published recently, wasn't validated before they published.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
