point_code 0 #1 May 2, 2006 As the parent of an 8 yr old son, we've been asked to come to school and give a short presentation about either what we do for work, or a hobby. I thought it would be cool to take in a skydiving video, my gear and give a little presentation about skydiving. I've been waiting for my reserve re-pack to come due so I could open both canopies for show. I am trying to gather video clips to put together (G rated please). If anyone has some they'd like to share, that would be great. I'm looking for video with maybe some floaters outside the plane, some free fall shots, under canopy shots from a boogie with lot's of canopies, and maybe a shot from the ground of a canopy malfunction/cutaway/reserve deployment. I'd also like a good shot in slow motion of a complete canopy opening. If anyone has video to share, or any cool ideas, please contact me. Thanks! Daizey 0 #5 May 3, 2006 My boyfriend did a skydiving presentation for my class of kids over the summer. They Loved it! He put together a video for them and then took them outside, explained how everything worked and let them try on some of our gear. Then he packed it back up and explained to them what he was doing. But my live-with girlfriend is a school teacher and when I pick her up on my motorcycle, sunny day the kids love that - but not as much as they love hearing about skydiving. What you are doing is cool, I wish you the best of luck, just be sure that they know not to try to base their garage roof with a pillow case. Who knows maybe 10, 15 years down the line a kid will take up the sport because of you! how cool is that! good luck edit: just thought of the skydive movie Crosswind, there is a great slow motion shot of a canopy opening out at Eloy, the image is great, but the kids might ask about the 'dust' - the ZP coating out in AZ flys off every opening - it kinda looks like he packed his chute with baby powder. but that is just a detail, \ blue ones Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
