tdog 0 #1 May 12, 2006 I am posting this online here, because I am so excited that the RE/MAX organization has chosen skydiving to be part of their promotional marketing. I think this is going to be a great opportunity for Skydiving to receive more positive publicity! Below is the official mailing that went to the Colorado Skydiving community... If you are near by, please feel free to show up, but I am not posting this here to advertise for the shoot, but to raise awareness of how skydiving is being seen mainstream enough to enter the corporate marketing arena. Quote Calling all Colorado (and nearby) skydivers! The CSL is excited to announce that we are the Production Coordinator for an upcoming video shoot for a RE/MAX promotional video. This shoot will be videotaped digitally in high definition by Norman Kent. Mr. Kent is probably best known for his hour of skydiving footage in the movie Cutaway, and of course the work he has done for the movies “Drop Zone”, and “Terminal Velocity”. The Director for this production is being pulled away from the hit CBS TV Show “Numb3rs” to direct this shoot. And rounding out the talent, Eliana Rodriguez, from Arizona Airspeed, has been cast as our female lead role, and will be helping organize the dives. This is going to be an exciting project! The filming dates for the skydiving scenes are June 19th and 20th – a Monday and Tuesday. Tentatively we have 6 jumps planned per day – at Mile High Skydiving. We are looking for skydivers to round out our cast. There are many opportunities for Colorado Skydivers in this production. Tentatively we need: • Skydivers for our 8 way formation • Skydivers to be involved in the ground shots (dirt diving, creeping, etc) • People to fill the remaining slots on the Otter (who will be able to jump but not be part of the 8way) • People to mill around the DZ • Canopy pilots to fly RE/MAX canopies The skydivers are going to be selected for their ability to consistently fly the same formation accurately and cleanly, in both diving exits and chunk exits – so RW 4way or 8way experience is a definite must. But, even novice skydivers can help us fill the other shots! The compensation package is still tentative at this point as the storyboard and needs are finalized, however the 8-way will likely receive a brand new name brand jumpsuit, helmet, jump tickets for practice and “hot” dives, packjobs, and finally monetary compensation. The others on the plane will receive free jumps and possibly free jumpsuits depending on their roles. Further, we will try to involve you in the process so you can learn from these out of state folk. You will of course get a video to show your friends and family. This is a great opportunity to promote our sport and Colorado skydiving – as the script is very positive towards our sport as a metaphor to the teambuilding that occurs within the RE/MAX organization. Even if you are not selected as part of the jump team, coming out and supporting the efforts will yield rewards for skydiving! I am so excited about this opportunity for Colorado Skydivers and that RE/MAX chose Colorado to film this project. Let’s show them that they made the right choice!
