kenneth21441 0 #1 May 18, 2006 After many years and many more jumps. I finally decided to go for the B lic test and of course passed it..The hardest part was the water training as one instructor was going to let me pass on this since I had a few water jumps while I was in the military. But I wanted to do it anyway. What a blast that was in the water and out of the harness in less then a minute. I would like to thank AJ from Skydive Ft Wayne for his time on that cold rainy day..... I guess its time to go for the C lic now...... just got to find eight people to jump with and get those two points......hahaha... I am also thinking about going for the coach rating but that is another time.... Just wanted to post this here....... thanks, Ken..Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

Spatula 0 #5 May 18, 2006 That's what I was wondering. I'm doing water training this summer, but will just wait until I'm ready for my C. Is there an advantage in getting the B then C???
ChrisL 2 #6 May 18, 2006 Quote Is there an advantage in getting the B then C??? Other than to just have it, no. There is no advantage to having the B if you have your C If you dont have the jump numbers for a C there are advantages to getting the B though as it entitles you to do night jumps and if you are over 100 jumps you can get a coach rating as well. I just got my C a few weeks ago. Never bothered with the B since I didnt really feel like doing night jumps or beinga coach. I aint good enough to coach anyone __ My mighty steed

champu 1 #8 May 18, 2006 I guess it depends on the dropzone's strictness regarding qualifications for night jumps, but technically you need either a B or a C on your way to a D. Some places simply require you to have the jumps and the water training, while some require you to actually have the B license before they'll let you do night jumps. I didn't get my B-license until I had around 500 jumps, and it was just to do night jumps. Shortly thereafter I skipped the C and got a D. I have no idea what my B number is. According to USPA you should meet the B-license requirements: 1. Skydivers participating in night jumping should meet all the requirements for a USPA B or higher license.
