Yes, but only with a licensed USPA tandem Instructor. If the person you jumped with is only lisensed throught the manufacture of the gear, then he is a tandem master and his signiture will do you no good with the uspa.

Then I guess it wasn't a skydive if the instructor wasn't a USPA member? :S:S:S

If ya happen NOT to go this weekend...I'll come out next week and make it with YA!

Well, I held out....:|

Looks like a 100th with Twardo next weekend.

Maybe we can get Century 21 to sponsor us and we can shake hands in freefall...:D

Allthough...that might be a little too cheesy for little miss glad to "put my head in your lap and" meet you!

The question asked was: "Does it count twords license?"
The answer given was "only if it was with an instructor"
NO mention of the words "member" was mentioned.

I think it would be quite humorus to send in a completed license application with an unlicensed instructor signing for it. HA!
The USPA will send you one of those special letters.

A skydive is a skydive. :S If he made 10 tandems with an unlicensed non USPA member tandem master, or 50 skydives signed verified by a non USPA member, and then wanted to count it toward his USPA license, it would only take one signature by a USPA instructor or S&TA to verify from his log book that he did the jumps needed to get his license. ;)

As a pilot, I would have loved to have seen the face of the FAA examiner when I applied for any of my flying ratings, if I had offered hours as an airline passenger as proof of experience. That is how I feel a Tandem Passenger relates to a skydiver.

Okay, now that cracked me up. ;) That is one of the funnier things I have read on here in years.......lol

Although, as a tandem course director, I would like to add that riding on the front as a "passenger" on tandem evaluation jumps is a different story. If all goes well, I do very little on the jump, but I still treat every instructor/candidate as a 250lb parachute system on my back that I can manipulate if/as needed to ensure our survival. That's counts as a skydive in my book. :P
