WFFC - What's going on?

But you had the best of the best FF people there Max Cohn, Dave Brown, Anomaly, Guano. You could even jump with Amy C if you asked her really nicely! Alchemy wasn't there because they have the Perris and Summerfest gigs.

This year I think the problem might be slightly different due to the WFFC dates being changed. They are not listed on the WFFC web page and teams like Arizona Airspeed, Anomaly/Guano probably won't be in attendance because they will more than likely be in Germany for the World meet.

Is the test dropping happening today??

Can't wait to hear the results.
What is it that happens after the test drops? I am wrong to think we should know by the end of the week if the jet is coming?

Last word I saw from WFFC was that they were on July 5th at the earliest.

I'd say that you are wrong to think that we are receiving reliable information about the jet or anything else for that matter.

Thats what pisses me off. >:(

I can handle the truth. Problem is I'm not being given the opportunity. :|

The FAA is the one that is scheduling and administering the test drops, there is nothing that Michael can do to get them scheduled earlier.I do know that they will be working as hard as possible right up to the end of the convention to get the plane approved though.

Remember the ads you have seen that say the Jet is coming are from Perris and not WFFC.

Here is the one truth you can rely on. If you do or get nothing else at WFFC, you will find Load Organizers that will challenge you, debrief you, make you go up again and do it right. Be prepared to get your ass-chewed for being sloppy when they know your capabilities. And, take those ass-chewings well. It doesn't mean you suck, it means 1) They know what you can do and you ain't doing it, 2) it's free coaching no matter what the method of delivery.

You will get more quality skydives that would normally cost you a fortune for the quality of L/O's they have. You will; as a result, leave there a better skydiver than you were the day before you got there.
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I'm not making Michael out to be the responsible party.

I'm indicating frustration at the lack of reliable information being released
to the public about any of it.

There ARE people that know whats going on at all levels and they are not passing that information on to us.

Whats the big deal about telling people whats up?

Its not hard.

No it's not that hard. And you know what's up. I've had some long discussions with the operator and what you've got is the executive summary.
Test drops got delayed till at least July 5th. Once they're complete, there's a data compare between flight data of a 727, DC9 and MD80. As soon as i know things, you'll know them. If there's nothing new, there's nothing new. Nothing hidden. Ask around. i don't hold any punches and I'm going to give it to you as it is.

Understandable about the jet. Nothing else can be done until it is done.

You have not been able to tell us how many registrations but are you able to say how many people the organisers are expecting to attend? I mean over here in the uk there is no 'word on the street' about it. I am wondering what 'the word on the dropzones' is in the states not just here on dz.com. So how many are you expecting? is it gearing up to be a huge event or is it the same as it is sounding in these forums of a few peoples voices?

Thanks.

Preregistrations will tell you nothing.I had just under 50 registered for the Dublin Boogie and we had 350 show up.As for how many people will be there, you are asking them to pick a number out of thin air.I'll pick one. There will be 1576 people at the WFFC.:D

just trying to find out what the buzz in the states is about the WFFC. Are people on the dz's talking about going?

I'd say, from what I've heard, it's about half and half. I have heard from a few that say, "Maybe." It's hard to tell who will or won't show up.

Psst... your website isn't working. Or am I doing something wrong?

Sounds familiar to me.

There will be at least 600 jumpers. Could be as high as 2000. If there are less than 600 in attendance during the week ... I'll by you a case of fine beer.

I just have to laugh. Because, I heard from my cousin's brother's uncle's girlfriend's best friend's brother's mechanic that the cubs are winning the world series this year.

As I'm sure Spence will attest, it's crapshoot sometimes. you just don't know what to expect.
