So far, so good. I'm competiting and doing ok in the TX CPC. I've reached a point that I'm ready to downsize again, just waiting for the end of the competition season and the money. Although I'm still jumping regularly, I'm not jumping nearly as much as I used to, which is seriously bothering me. Until I can change shifts, that's just how its going to be, though.

1. Finish my last two jumps to get my A
2. Learn as much as possible and become a better flyer
3. Practice packing, go through a canopy control class and water training course
4. Visit the tunnel ALOT
5. Make money to get a rig
6. Learn how to freefly

---------------------------------------------

Mine are going well. I got my A, I'm starting to become a better flyer. I've done my water training, but I need the canopy control class still.

I'm in the tunnel everyweek and learning how to sit-fly in the tunnel currently and doing 2-ways. My belly flying has also increased tremendously because of the tunnel and it has also slowed my speed down.

I just need a rig and some money for it too...:P
Puttin' some stank on it.

My stated goals were:

Stay alive (so far so good)
Stay safe (so far so good)
Have fun (so far so good)
Learn to land better and more consistently (I took Scott Miller's class in April and that's helped a lot)
Get better at RW (haven't really been working on this yet as I've been focusing on the landing stuff)
Stay excited about the sport (still working on this one - it ebbs and flows depending on how frustrating a day I'm having)

My goal when I started my static line class on April 22 was to get my class A before the end of summer.

I did my last student jump June 18th, three days before summer even officially started.

New goal: Try to balance finances and skydiving. Not going so well...

I didn't reply to the original thread, but I'm having a pretty good year.

Survived a goofy two out cut-away in January on rented gear.

That got me super motivated to buy my own gear which I did in March. Since then I've jumped that rig over 60 times. Had tons of really fun jumps.

Part of the gear thing included a jump suit, helmet, and audible altimeter.

Additionally, I've spent over an hour in the wind tunnel and generally, have had a great time.

Can't wait for the second half of the year.

Accident Free- Make good decisions

Have Fun

Make New Friends

Keep Challenging myself in skill development

Stay just a little scared. Don't interfere with having fun, but just enough to keep it safe.

Cheers,

MH

All Good so far :)
1.Got my A & B Licence in one foul swoop ( not to be confused with swooping ! )
Waiting for my licence number.

2.Got my FS1.
Just a miserable 5 points but I was having such a good time in the final star when I knew it was in the bag that I just 'wasted' the last 10 seconds buzzing and grinning my face off at my 'brothers'.;)
The video was wicked.
Got real lucky and travelled down the side of a 1500 foot (about 7 seconds ) cloud and it just gave that real feel of speed that us non Base Jumpers crave for.

3.Said farewell to the student landing area at Lillo and landed where the big boys do on the grass at the front.
No more mud !!!

3.Sorted myself a Rig put ( I hope ) and I'll pick it up next time I'm in Spain.

4.Really considering quitting the Rat Race, renting out my Gaff, buying a big old Winnebago and touring Europe/the World.

Sky Diving Rocks !!!!!!!
