recovercrachead 0 #1 August 9, 2006 I had a dropzone tell me that if I didn't jump over 6 months I had to pay $70 coach jump, over 2 years $110 for AFF jump. So someone could hold my hand thats been in the sport for 14 years. Guess what I jumped yesterday.Track high, Pull LOW!!!

WeakMindedFool 0 #3 August 9, 2006 I can see their point. I'm sure you were just fine I watched a video of a guy with a few years off earlier this year. He had like 10 years in sport previous. It was funny watching him bounce off the powerlines on final (funny as in he didn't get hurt). It's in all our best interest to make sure returning folks can still do it. DJL 235 #4 August 9, 2006 Sorry, DZOs have discretion over who jumps at their DZ. We had a guy show up at our DZ who had a D license but no log book, had only made one jump recently at another DZ but that's it for about two years. He also had only ever jumped sporatically. We told him he had to make a check-out dive. He told the S&TA something like that it was just "his opinion". Sorry, that's the opinion that counts. Anyone who's been out that long should seriously address how they're re-entering the sport."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
recovercrachead 0 #5 August 9, 2006 From what I remember when I got my D license the Sims said, no sorry suggested a hop and pop to get current thats it. Time in the sport sometimes overides the guy who has a ton of jumps in a short period of time. Its nothing new, skydiving is easier than getting back on a bike . Our dz owner hasn't jumped in 7 years and he jumped back to win a bet by landing on a dime after 7 years but in the sport since the 60s.

But just because it worked for you, does not mean it works for everyone. I have seen some people come back and do down right stupid things. And it is your life, and the DZO's right/duty to make sure people are safe...And it is his living at stake. Yea, but like I said, if you own the DZ you can do shit like that. And if you had gone in we would have buried you where you landed and given you flight jacket to Nick. You want to borrow my jump suit again?
