TKATC 0 #1 August 15, 2006 Of course many of you have done this already but I am wondering how it usually works. What is the best method so both buyer and seller get a fair shake in such a transaction. I would like to buy a smaller canopy and I am selling my current canopy once I make a purchase, so any suggestions are helpful.
Scoop 0 #2 August 15, 2006 I bought reserve off here. Good communication with seller. We agreed to have it shipped to my rigger who would act as an independent agent for the deal. He inspected it, I paid the seller, but the item wasn't released into my posession until the seller had contacted my rigger. I think this is a pretty standard and safe practice
 Fast 0 #3 August 15, 2006 QuoteI bought reserve off here. Good communication with seller. That is the typical way that gear gets sold. Seller sends to rigger, rigger inspects, tells buyer to pay, seller recieves payment, seller informs rigger to release goods. Usually it is shipped to a dropzone.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. I still stay in contact with him to this day. He is more experienced than I am, so he has been an invaluable source of information for me! I have yet to meet him in person, but I look forward to jumping w/him soon. I highly recommend DZ.com as a source to purchase gear! The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat. Thanks AGAIN, Mike! I think it can, depending on the reputation of the folks in question and whether they're a "known quantity." I'm currently buying a canopy from a seller on here and he's let me demo it for a couple weeks now, entirely on trust. I figure enough people know me at this point he knows how to track me down. I'm selling a canopy right now; how I approach the sale will very much depend on who's interested (and who they know).
