billvon 3,114 #1 January 11, 2007 So apparently Scott S just got shot upwards of a slingshot, got 300 feet of altitude, opened a BASE rig and landed. And was not killed in the process. That is all - carry on.
AggieDave 6 #2 January 11, 2007 No video? Then it didn't happen. Seriously, its going to be hard to believe if it didn't have video.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

AggieDave 6 #4 January 11, 2007 QuoteMe thinks you better set the DVR to record Stunt Junkies Ok, will do then. Seriously, though...that's incredible. Someone sat down and figured the math out for a 3000k hop-n-pop catapult and found that it would cause something like a loading of 35g's on the body for a few seconds...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Squeak 17 #12 January 11, 2007 I posted about this in bonfire (seeing how it's not a skydive) they said he was aiming for 700 feet alti. Seem if that true Scoot fell considerably short of the markYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? jimmytavino 16 #14 January 11, 2007 there was a 20 second spot of this on the NBC Today show this morning.... the clip showed the words Perris Ca. at the bottom and it 'looked' like they used 2 cranes,,,, side by side with some type of elastic/bungee cables running from the cranes DOWN to the ground and under tension..... The apparatus launched,,, tossed the 'passenger' UP , well past the tops of the crane, and at what appears to be the apex of the launch,,, a pilot chute could be seen, followed by a fast opening main... Not much time spent under canopy, but the landing looked good and the jumper certainly was "energized"... upon touching down.... pretty cool....to watch........ jmy

Lindercles 0 #16 January 11, 2007 Why actually DO an original stunt when you can talk about the stunts you're doing as if they're original!? Speaking of original stunts, hasn't this been done before? Can somebody please explain to me why this is important? I'm not being a troll here, I'd really like to know.

Perhaps the term "GROUND LAUNCHING" has just been redifined. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed. Ms.sofaking 0 #22 January 11, 2007 That's brilliant. You can purchase a lift ticket or super launch lift ticket.I'd try and sell that to some resorts if I were you.Talk about the million dollar idea!"I'm not sure how it's going to turn out, except I'll die in the end, she said. Skolls081102 0 #24 January 11, 2007 I was just flipping thru the channels, and was quite surprised to see a small clip on the news showing this stunt. I figured Stunt Junkies wouldn't allow anyone to show it till they broadcast it. The sole intention, is learning to fly.Condition grounded, but determined to try. Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies.Tongue tied and twisted, just an Earth bound misfit.
