poesiekatje 0 #1 April 16, 2007 Hi, I am currently a student at Hiram College in Ohio and have recently been assigned a 12-15 page paper. This paper requires me to immerse myself in something I am interested in but have never done before. Skydiving is that interest. I am looking for individuals who might be willing to answer some questions I might have about why they do this seeming crazy thing! I just want to learn more about the sport. And ... rest assured, this is not for publication, but for a grade. If I decide to try and get it published, anyone who contributes to the article will be notifed and permission received before publication. Thanks for any help Teri B

JohnMitchell 16 #4 April 16, 2007 It's not unusual for high school students doing papers or other projects on skydiving to visit the DZ and interview jumpers. Are you planning on making a jump yourself? I've trained more than one high school student doing a project.

hymandd732 0 #6 May 26, 2007 I think that you have picked an excellent topic for your paper. I have been jumping for 42 years and have seen the sport evolve from a few hardy souls to a huge money making industry. The whole character of the sport has changed to accomondating one time thrill seekers and pseudo professional competitor types. No longer do a couple hardy souls seek out a rental plane and with surplus military gear guts out an exit from a couple thousand feet. The whole flavor of the sport has changed to a profit making venture.
