el_chester 4 #1 July 2, 2007 I will move to Sydney in a couple of months, so I have the following questions: - Do you know if a German license will be recognized to jump regularly (i.e. not just a couple of times as a tourist) in Australia? Or do I have to get an Aussie license once I have moved there permanently? - Does the Australian license have to be regularly renewed or is it a permanent license as long as one stays current? - Does one have to belong to the national parachuting organization to jump in Australia regularly? Thanks for your replies, E. -- Be careful giving advice. Wise men don't need it, and fools won't heed it.
crotalus01 0 #2 July 3, 2007 I jump in the States with an Aussie and a few Americans who have jumped there, and from what they have told me you have to buy a membership in the Australian version of USPA to jump even as a tourist. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

bob.dino 1 #5 July 3, 2007 To jump in Australia you will need to become an APF member. There are temporary and year-long memberships available. The Chief Instructor at the dropzone you first visit will assess your existing overseas licence & competence and award you appropriate APF privileges. Instructional & rigging ratings have a separate migration procedure. Contact the APF for more details. Most sport-jumping licenses are permanent. Display-jump licenses and instructional ratings need to be renewed.
