DropDgorgeous 0 #1 July 11, 2007 I'm quite new at this, so excuse if this is a very stupid question, but how do you get the different levels like A, B, etc. Does it depend on how many jumps you do, or what types of jumps...?
BillyVance 35 #2 July 11, 2007 You can go to www.uspa.org and look up the Learn To Skydive link on there."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
hchunter614 0 #3 July 11, 2007 Man Billy you beat me by a few seconds but I took the time to look at the OP's location (which is not in the US) so I wasn't going to post the USPA info. The Parachute Association of South African (PASA) has a website at http://www.para.co.za/ and I'm sure you can find the license requirements for SA there. Oh I see... oops... well the info's a rough idea of what to expect elsewhere isn't it? She could have mentioned her location... Which is SOUTH AFRICA... so any of you South African Skydivers on here, pipe in... piisfish 140 #7 July 11, 2007 Quote since I registered at Dropzone, I haven't encountered one South-African. Starting to think they're non-existent. They are non-existent here. Actually being South African might get you banned by Sangiro, the owner of the website. Just pretend you're from Lesotho or something Pa2themd, Peej, Tonto, Taya, Sangiro et al, come and catch her scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
Orange1 0 #8 July 11, 2007 Quote Thanks for the websites guys, I'll go look around there No, we definitely exist ) There are a few people from PSC around too. Re licences, look on the PASA website para.co.za under Documents, first section Manual of Procedures, BSRs (chapter 2) has the basic licence requirements for each level (as well as currency requirements and other stuff)... though if you want all the detail you will need to get into each discipline's section (e.g. Cat 3 requirement for B licence is discipline dependent, but you don't need all that info now anyway!) By the way, you'll need to know the stuff in Chapter 2 for your A licence test. A also requires 25 jumps, completed student progression, completed ISPs, and packing instruction.Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.

chaoskitty 0 #12 July 12, 2007 Sangiro owns this website, and he is South African. There are a lot of SA in this sport. The ones I know all happen to be incredible canopy pilots.
