catfishhunter 2 #127 August 8, 2007 Not replying to you DP just your the last one posting :) What I am waiting for is most DZ's to adopt the same or close to the same policies and then see what the "well I am just gonna have to go to such and such and jump there crowd" will do then? Sell your gear? Open your own DZ? Stomp your feet and scream until your blue in the face? Or maybe just get over yourselves and realize you just aint that special. I truly would love to see every DZ implement the same exact policy (no turns over 90) for 90 days. I wonder how many people would stop jumping or turn purple because they threw a fit and threatened to hold their breath until they was allowed to do whatever they wanted and found out 2 year old temper tantrums don't work in the adult world MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have. catfishhunter 2 #130 August 8, 2007 I think you missed the point completly.I don't care about 90's, 180's, 270 or whatever someone likes to do but to throw a fit about how someone chooses to run their buisness is we'll childish. So the point was if every DZ put the same policy in place for 90 days then people would either stop throwing tantrums, open their own DZ, quit or work with the BUISNESS owners in trying to find something that works for the BUISNESS owner. MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have. We must live life to the fullest EVERY DAY. Everything we do should have a greater purpose. And I think their point was if the DZ banned Belly Flying for 90 days, and you "throw a fit about how someone chooses to run their buisness ", how would your reaction be considered. You are talking about encouraging DZO's to kill off an entire discipline in the sport. Why stop there, Style and accuracy guys in a heavy stall above the landing area can screw up peoples patterns, CReW guy ho do hop and pops can screw up peoples patterns. Students making S-turns so they don't overshoot their landing area definently can screw up the pattern. We should ban new students also. Where does it end? Just some food for thought. Might say fuck it and go find a different sport too, if the changes are perceived as arbitrary and unfriendly.
billvon 3,118 #133 August 8, 2007 >or work with the BUISNESS owners in trying to find something that >works for the BUISNESS owner. And the business owner would say, "nope, no turns over 90 for 90 days, that catfish guy said! I think there's some sort of point to be made." It is foolish for jumpers to intentionally do dangerous stuff, and it's stupid for DZO's to intentionally piss off their customers. It would behoove both sides to find something that works before either of the above comes to pass.
catfishhunter 2 #134 August 9, 2007 Last line of what I said Quote work with the BUISNESS owners in trying to find something that works for the BUISNESS owner. You said Quote It would behoove both sides to find something that works before either of the above comes to pass BINGO.That is what the point was My statement was ridicules. And that was the point of it. It was as ridicules as people being pissed off because a DZO has made policy they feel is in the best interest of not only their customers but their buisness. I went as far right as the people screaming where to the left to show just how silly throwing a tantrum is. I know if my kids throw tantrums they get a time out MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have. We must live life to the fullest EVERY DAY. Derekbox 0 #135 August 9, 2007 Was at Deland today, saw no signs, ripped a big 360 and no one said anything.

JumpRu 14 #137 August 9, 2007 Nice! I like Deland and I go there every time I’m in Florida. Would be really sad if I had to find a new place because of this stupid 180 rule
mirage62 0 #138 August 9, 2007 Darn, I like Deland and I would go more often if they had KEEP that 90 rule Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
freeflyn 0 #139 August 9, 2007 QuoteAt Perris people at the swoop area don't usually get picked up. They just have a slightly longer walk. This is not true Bill, I always land at the pond and 99% of the time Tim (or someone else) is there to pick me up.
billvon 3,118 #140 August 9, 2007 >This is not true Bill, I always land at the pond and 99% of the time >Tim (or someone else) is there to pick me up. Hmm. When we land down there, we generally don't get rides. Which is fine; after you run it out it's maybe an extra 100 feet of walking.

Waldschrat 0 #143 August 10, 2007 Very interesting to read how people are pissed off, if you make only one little new rule. Imagine the new rule would sound like: No canopys loaded above 1,
