btvr 0 #1 August 26, 2007 I just signed up to take the essential canopy skills course at my local dropzone. I'm looking forward to it. The advanced course is offered the next day. I'm not into swooping and high performance landings at this stage. I was wondering if I would benefit from the accuracy part instead. What are some opinions of these courses? jojo69 0 #3 August 26, 2007 I took both of his courses. I have no intention of every swooping however, it was good training to learn what the other flyers are doing and why. I enjoyed the courses and learned much more than I thought I could. Education is never lost. Take the courses and work on the skills.
Royd 0 #4 August 27, 2007 I took the basic and the advanced at the same time for convenience sake. As I recall, the advanced course was mostly about dialing in your accuracy. Since I was the only one on the second day, Scott went over a few things about basic swooping but I'm not there, yet.
tkhayes 348 #5 August 27, 2007 You cannot take the course and not improve your flying in some way. Go to all the seminars offered when you can by any of the good trainers and coaches out there. Even if you took Scott's course twice in a row, I expect you would still get some new improvements out of it. He will help with accuracy too, but I took some of his ideas and wrote into a seminar of my own, attached TK
chrismgtis 0 #6 August 27, 2007 It's a good class. Pay attention and do what he says. You will probably see lots of improvement from it.Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
