councilman24 37 #2 September 7, 2007 In terms of student progression, dates and altitudes your dz may be able to help. Either their computer or manual manifest system should be able to help you with some of the information. If you have a copy of your a license proficiency card (hopefully you or your dz does) that should help fill in the student stuff. You can also go to other jumpers who may have logged jumps you were on with them. Try to reconstruct as best you can. There used to be some guidance either in the SIM or in the S&TA info but I couldn't find it quickly. Talk to you S&TA about witnessing the reconstruction. You may be out of luck on any B license requirements you had logged. Even your credit card bills or check book may aid in number and date of jumps and altitude. I'm old for my age. tdog 0 #3 September 7, 2007 Well considering I just put a year and a half of jumps on one page of a log book, I suppose anything is possible. But then again, I have ratings and my D, so I have nothing to gain by logging. "Crap load of jumps, XXX to XXX, wingsuit, AFF, balloons, boogies, high pulls, low pulls, four way video, sitfly, flail fly, a chop, and an ice storm." The manifest at the DZ I visited laughed and accepted it. The reality is - if you have an instructor friend that knows you, trusts you, and sees you jump - they likely will sign off anything you need signed off based upon proven skills, even if the logbook is lost. CSpenceFLY 1 #4 September 7, 2007 I have not logged in several years. One of these days I'm going to be screwed when I go somewhere that they don't know me.
pirana 0 #5 September 7, 2007 I'm in a similar boat. We're doing a fall purge of house and garage, so I'm still hoping to come across it, but I can not find my log book with my first 350 or so jumps. And I was thinking of taking the D test before the end of the season. I'm really bad (or is it good) at that stashing-things-so-well-I-can't-find-them-again thing." . . . the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging them and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley

rave4funn 0 #7 September 7, 2007 What is this logbook you all speak of? Just kidding. I've got one, but I am horrible about filling it out. When I fill out anything, it's normally jump number and date unless it's a cutaway, night jump, different dz, etc. I really need to get better about that.--------------------------------------------------- http://www.myspace.com/rave4funn

According the SIM chapter 8.1.2a you have to take up bowling. or you could ask the dz to print up your jumps (if they use jump run)My photos My Videos

NickDG 23 #12 September 9, 2007 This may not work for you now, but maybe later. Whenever someone lost a log book, or in some cases all of them, in a time when everybody still logged, we'd have a Logbook Signing Party! You just throw a party for a lot of jumpers who know you, and know your experience level, and then just throw down several blank logbooks on the coffee table. Nobody walks by without signing off a few jumps, and before the night is out, you're back up to date . . . NickD BASE
