Marios 0 #1 September 24, 2007 Yesterday I did the first of the two required evaluation jumps for the USPA Coach rating. The jump went something like this: On the ground the evaluator had routed her chest strap incorrectly and had her altimeter not 0 ed. Caught that on the ground. On exit she got on the step of the Cessna 172 without wearing her googles. I caught that as well. She gave me the wrong count twice and exited in a ball position going down really fast. I got close to her very quiclkly. For the rest of the jump she was just looking at me without doing anything from the plan. At break-off she did not wave off or do something so I turned, tracked and pulled high. Got on the ground getting her congratulations. Now all of this happened while I jumped at this DZ for the first time, first time out of a small Cessna (172) and while wearing my new suit for the first time. BEER BEER BEER! Marios 0 #5 September 25, 2007 Thanks and good luck my friend. Expect that the examiner is going to do nothing right. Play your role from the time the examiner puts his/her gear on. Be prepare to chase the examiner around.
peregrinerose 0 #6 September 25, 2007 Doug, if you get Griff as your examiner, think 'inverted frogman'... that is exactly what you will see. It'll make you crack up. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
Lok 0 #7 September 25, 2007 Well Done Marios!!! Get your rating and Best wishes to the future. Marios really loves skydiving and helping new peoples to the sport, he deserves this rating. I know him personally, is a really good flyer ever here in Greece unfortunately we don't jump so often.
Marios 0 #8 September 26, 2007 Thank you for your good words. Here in Greece, I am worried if I am going to be able to satisfy the requirement of 15 coach jumps per year to keep my rating current. I hope....
