raymond_jones 0 #1 September 25, 2007 After searching the internet, I came across this business arizonia the website is: phoenixareaskydiving.com here is what they tell students who are wanting to get "certified" in skydiving: "Phoenix Area Skydiving is the best place to get certified if you live in the Phoenix area. We are the closest dropzone to Phoenix and have an excellent safety record. After you graduate from our 9 jump AFP Program you will be able to jump on your own and experience the thrill of flying. After this you can try freeflying(vertical flying), skyboarding, or even the new birdman suit. Call today to start your adventure in skydiving." and people wonder why younger jumpers have death wishes. I suppose this is another "skyride" buddy ruining our sport to make a few bucks. --------------- scumbags-------------------------------"your the shit till you eat it !!!!!!!! damn that wall hurts..." BillyVance 34 #5 September 25, 2007 I believe it IS a Skyride website. If you hold the mouse pointer over the header at the top, you see a small text pop-up say "Skydiving in Northern Michigan" "Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

They used to split their year between Michigan and southern California. I don't know if the Arizona operation is instead of California, or in addition. After this you can try freeflying(vertical flying), skyboarding, or even the new birdman suit. There are two "afters." It doesn't say how long after you experience the thrill of flying you can proceed to the others. That's no more misleading than virtually all advertizing for tandem skydives. To me, far more scummy are the lies about altitude, be it the use of MSL or the notorious "18,000ft" skydives that are far lower. So is there a DZ anywhere near Phoenix, or is Eloy the closest? Skydive [city] is usually a DZ 100 miles away from the city. How misleading is that?

Closest to my nephew who lives on the southeast part of the valley is Eloy. I think if you used city center Phoenix, Casa Grande would be just slightly closest, but not by much..."I'm not lost. Kiki32 1 #22 September 26, 2007 If I was a whuffo Id be a little misled from this. Id be thinking "Wow I only have to do 9 jumps and then Ill be able to use a skyboard!" and then be very once I went thru the training to find out otherwise. Sure the statement is legal probably. But its not nice to get peoples hopes up like that. Poetry don't work on whores.
JohnMitchell 16 #23 September 26, 2007 I see plenty of people get 9 jumps and want to try freeflying. I see freeflying being done on Level Is too. Relax, that ad is not a big deal

I don't know that there's a skyboarder (used for demonstraation purposes) out there that would take on a 9-jump student. Freeflyers? Well, yes...there's tons of them bozos that would do it. 9 jumps and I'm off skyboarding! WoooHoooo!" "What? I can't do that? But your website says I can! WTF?"My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
