Luza 0 #1 December 21, 2007 My Dropzone/skydiving club owns a C-182. Twice a year we rent bigger planes (Twin Otter in easter and AN28 in fall) for one week. For the 2008 season we are hoping to get our hands on a turbine plane thats takes 8-12 jumpers to 13000 feet in as short periode of time as possible;) But, so far we've had no luck in locating a plane that we could rent for 2-3 weeks. Any1 have any suggestions? Because of the flying time the plane have to be loacated in or close to europe. The Dropzone is in Norway, and we hope to rent a plane for 2-3 weeks during the summer months. There might be som interest from other dropzones/skydiving clubs in our area to use the plane also - so renting for a couple months mye be a option. If you can help us, please post here or send me an e-mail at harald.kvande (@) gmail.com or PM me. harald-
JohanW 0 #2 December 21, 2007 Contact www.an28.de. They have an An-28 they rent out, and being new, them might have it available still. Wait, 8-12 jumpers. It might be too big for you.Johan. I am. I think.

riggerrob 643 #4 December 21, 2007 Does that Swiss company still lease out Pilatus Porters and Turbine 206s? What about asking the Pink Skyvan Group if any of their friends have a smaller turbine to lease? Also ask the Spanish and Portuguese DZs where their turbines work during the summer. Dazzle 0 #6 December 23, 2007 Tony de Bruyn has a couple (2 at least, might be a third) Skyvans available if that's not too big. They've been floating around the UK in the summer for the last couple of years. I didn't find a contact number from a quick bit of googling though it looks like the company name is Eureka Aviation. You should be able to get contact details through BPS Langar in the UK as they've had the planes in a few times in the last couple of years (as have Netheravon, Sibson and Weston as well)
Krip 2 #7 December 23, 2007 Due to the attractive exchange rate for the euro vs the american $$$. Your club might be able buy a plane in the united states fill it with new jump gear fly it to your DZ sell the US made jump gear at a discount price and still make money on the gear. After your jump seaso is over sell/lease the plane to a club in spain or other country that has warm weather in the winter. Brainstorn with your club. You might even be able to buy the plane the american way: with a No money down, interest only loan for first couple of years, followed by a adjustable interest rate that can go either up or down. riggerrob 643 #9 December 23, 2007 I still think that it will be cheaper to rent a Communist-surplus airplane from Eastern Europe. Fuel costs may be higher than newer American-made engines, but maintenance costs will be lower. Those Communist-surplus Antonovs are built like tanks! Who am I kidding, the youngest turbine engine - working at an American DZ - is a twenty-plus year-old PT6A! Tee! Hee!
