Evelyn 0 #1 January 17, 2005 I was doing two ways with a friend. I was outside and she was inside taking my arm grips. She hit her head on exit and I hit my shoulder. We figured out that obviously since she hit her head she wasn't diving down, but what I am unclear on is why I hit my shoulder. Was it because I didn't swing out far enough on exit or just because she had my arm grip when she left (hitting her head). Exit was stable despite hitting the plane on exit. We had to leave the DZ before having time to talk to a coach, and know it will bother me until I can talk to a coach next weekend, so thought I'd ask in the forum. bodypilot1 0 #2 January 17, 2005 When launching a 2 way with one out and one in, have the outside grab the inside bar with both hands, have the inside person grab the arm grippers of the outside person and make sure they are getting low in the doorway with thier back straight, and almost pushing on the outside person as they start the count. A slight leg swing "out, in out" will let them know when your going. As the outside person comes off the plane, focus on keeping your chest to the relative wind using your arms for stability. You probably hit your shoulder because you were too far back in the doorway. Hope this helps. Evelyn 0 #4 January 17, 2005 It was an otter. We were set up at the front of the plane, I was standing outside with both hands on the bar. She was inside and had my arm grips. She gave me a shake to indicate she was ready, then I gave the count with my leg, out, in, out and it seemed like timing was okay, and the exit was stable. headoverheels 334 #5 January 17, 2005 Probably best to get someone there at Perris to go to the mockup with you and see what you two were doing. Lots of local expertise there, and it won't take them 5 minutes.
Nightingale 0 #6 January 18, 2005 did you hit on the top of the door, the side, or the bottom? I could see how you could smack your shoulder on the step, but the top of the door would be kinda hard. Also, are you sure you hit the plane and not her helmet?
flyangel2 2 #7 January 18, 2005 QuoteAlso, are you sure you hit the plane and not her helmet? That is what I was thinking. Also, if the inside person is hitting their head on the door frame, they aren't out far enough. Lots of "positive pressure" coming from the inside person will help a smooth exit.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
