Canopy Size - Differences

Recommended Posts

A few questions.

How does a larger/smaller canopy affect your ground speed, vertical speed and the control of the canopy. How does weight affect what size canopy you have? Also, how do advanced canopies differ from student canopies in terms of control and physical differences.

Thanks

Smaller canopies fly and decend faster

The more you value life without titanium, the larger your canopy choice vs your weight will be.

Student canopies are trimmed to be forgiving of mistakes. Advanced canopies are trimmed to ignore mistakes in favor of titanium upgrades to the pilot.

A few reminders for everyone:

-If you can't answer a valid question in a post, or simply don't want to, silence is golden. Move along and find one that you can/do. [warning] Rude and antagonistic responses such as we have seen in this thread will result in a break from participating in this topical forum. [/warning]

-If you see a post get deleted, posting your own new thread to reply to it is *probably* not the thing to do. [warning] Putting them back up, posting new separate threads for the same reason, or posting comments here about post removals and edits will result in a break from partici[ating in this topical forum.
