Faicon9493 141 #55 February 26, 2008 Quote They just landed, and it looked great. Luigi was there with (I think) the 37, and he and Jeb did a canopy/wingsuit flock. Jeb had his helemt wired for sound, and was explaining what he was doing during the entire jump, even answering some questions from the fat weather guy, who kept calling him 'Jeff'. Who was the camera flyer?
kallend 2,147 #56 February 26, 2008 Nice job. Was the video guy "Heffro1"? It looked like his style of flying.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
jtval 0 #57 February 26, 2008 No-one cares about the video flyer unless they're in the video. My photos My Videos
PLFXpert 0 #58 February 26, 2008 Quote Was the video guy "Heffro1"? No idea. The article just mentions "a cameraman in another wingsuit". Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
DougH 270 #59 February 26, 2008 The live in air video was really cool. I bet that equipment runs a few dollars! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

tdog 0 #61 February 26, 2008 From someone who has flown a lot of wingsuits, what amazes me is how fast Lugi's canopy must have been flying to get in the dock. And the sky to ground radio/video was nice too! Everything else was just a typical wingsuit flight. The whole concept that "docking with a canopy" is a good training method, to me, is just marketing for the beverage company plastered all over Lugi's jumpsuit and landing area, and giving Lugi a bit of fame too... I am sure the sponsorship money is needed, so I can't knock them for using this... Using GPS recorders and/or proximity flying with other wingsuits would work just as well if they were really interested in data and fine tuning skills. But it was a good show, very positive, etc. Other than my previous comments about the lawyers. Wish they would have shown the landings of Lugi and given credit to the "aerial cameraman". tdog 0 #63 February 26, 2008 ...Not the swoop and setup... His canopy was already "shut down" by the time they cut to it.
DSE 5 #64 February 26, 2008 Quote...Not the swoop and setup... His canopy was already "shut down" by the time they cut to it. they had several B-roll cams going, hopefully they'll release, or allow others to access, some of the B-roll content.

dannydan 5 #66 February 26, 2008 what are "B-roll" cameras?
DSE 5 #67 February 26, 2008 Quotewhat are "B-roll" cameras? A B-roll camera is secondary imaging for shots that can be cut to from an interview or primary source shot. Think of it as a "second camera" shooting whatever is going on around the subject.
dannydan 5 #68 February 26, 2008 thx D... So even tho we actually didnt see Lugi do the swoop, it is still on film since there were like 5000 more cameras around that event this morning? Is this what I am hearing?

SPAWNmaster 0 #70 February 26, 2008 QuoteI saw Lugi land and run out that twin sheet... Just didnt see the swoop and setuP... certainly would've been nice. anyways my thoughts on the video: the whuffo comments were hillarious...kind of bugs me in some ways but also have to remind myself not everyones a skydiver and don't know any better. i feel like a lot of people watching this may get the impression that there are only a couple of wingsuiters even out there...like it's some kind of evil kinevil shit to jump a wingsuit. (as opposed to focusing on the fact that he took a dock on luigi under canopy...which is certainly some evil kinevil work there!) i'm glad jeb can get some airtime and will hopefully help get him the money he needs for the big jump. i'm curious to see what people think about if we are all going to be jumping without canopies 100 years from now? who knows what the technology will let us do...free fall until 5ft above the ground and then turn on the anti-grav device? PLFXpert 0 #71 February 26, 2008 Quote the whuffo comments were hillarious...kind of bugs me in some ways but also have to remind myself not everyones a skydiver and don't know any better. It doesn't bug me at all. It makes me giggle, though. I didn't think there were a whole bunch of such comments, however. I thought the anchors did a fantastic job. I like the Evil Knievel reference because that's sort of what Jeb is right now--no real value to what he's wanting to do, just wants to do it. OK, then. Let's see! I wouldn't worry if people know there's like a ton of other wingsuit flyers out there, though. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

RedSyphon 0 #75 February 26, 2008 The comment of: "Their opening the bay doors now..." made me laugh but I think overall it was a good video.
